The Key West Harry S. Truman Foundation in partnership with the Society of Presidential Descendants is proud to present a series of special events in celebration of Presidents’ Day Weekend, February 15th-19th. This annual event is the largest gathering of presidential descendants on Presidents’ Day in the country.

Join us for the Presidential Families Weekend Kick-Off Happy Hour featuring our Signature Cocktail, Presidential Trivia and more!  Tickets to Happy Hour at Harry’s includes light hors d’oeuvres, complimentary cocktails, and live music.  Happy Hour at Harry’s is on the grounds of the Truman Little White House, Florida’s Only Presidential Museum.

Tickets purchase will include beer, wine, specialty bourbon cocktail or non-alcoholic beverage and light hors d’oeuvres.

Prominent Presidential Descendants with a direct lineage to one or more of the 46 U.S. Presidents will share stories and historical perspectives on how their relatives managed Political Maneuvering: The Powerful Influence of the Presidency. Moderated by Dr. Kurt Graham, Director of the Harry S. Truman Library and Museum in Independence, Missouri.  This year we are proud to welcome presidential descendants, Clifton Truman Daniel, grandson of Harry S. Truman, the 33rd U.S. President; Massee McKinley, great-great grandson of 22nd and 24th U.S. President Grover Cleveland; Mary Jean Eisenhower, granddaughter of 34th U.S. President Dwight D. Eisenhower; Patricia Taft, great-granddaughter of 27TH U.S. President William H. Taft; James Carter, grandson of 39th U.S. President Jimmy Carter; and Ulysses Grant Dietz, great-great grandson of 18th U.S. President Ulysses S. Grant.   

Winners of the 2nd Annual Harry S. Truman Foundation and The Society of Presidential Descendants Student Essay Competition will be announced following the forum.

Due to weather, Sunday’s show will be held at the Foundation Gallery, located at 201 Front Street suite 101, Building 21, Key West, FL 33040. 

Sunday, February 18, 2024  Join us at 10 am to meet and listen to world renowned artist Tom Corbin’s presentation on Sculpting.  Tom Corbin had the honor to sculpt a statue of President Truman for the U.S. Capitol Rotunda in Washington, D.C.

“Give ‘Em Hell, Harry!”                                                                                                                                                                                                            February 18 and 19, 2024    4:30 pm 

Sunday and Monday, February 18 and 19, 2024 starting at 4:30 pm, the acclaimed long-running stage production “Give ‘Em Hell, Harry!” returns to Key West, Florida.

Due to weather, Sunday’s show will be held at the Tropic Cinema, located at 416 Eaton St, Key West, FL 33040. Doors open at 4 pm and show starts at 4:30 pm. Monday’s show will still be held at the Truman Little White House.

Staged outdoors on the grounds of the Harry S. Truman Little White House in Key West, “Give ‘Em Hell, Harry!” is a dynamic one-man-show that celebrates the unique persona and presidency of 33rd U.S. President Harry S. Truman, and stars President Truman’s own grandson Clifton Truman Daniel. Truman Daniel is an actor, humanitarian, news writer and editor, and the first direct descendant to portray a presidential ancestor in a stage production of this kind.

 

PRESIDENTS’ DAY COOKOUT                                                                                                                                                                                     Monday, February 19, 2024  11:30 am – 1:30 pm  

Monday, February 19, 2024 from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm the Foundation members and the community are invited to enjoy the spacious Little White House grounds with a lunchtime Presidents’ Day Cookout. In traditional picnic style, hamburgers, veggie burgers and hotdogs will be available for purchase. A cash bar will also be available.

Purchase your tickets at the Truman Little White House. ($10 per person)
