Truman in Key West
Truman arriving in Key West five days after defeating Thomas Dewey in 1948
Truman worked daily at his desk in the living room, where you can see the famous "The Buck Stops Here" sign. Harry (second from left) and Bess (far right at head of table) entertaining staff and friends in the formal dining room. Today you can see the dining room just as the Truman's left it.
Truman loved being outdoors in Key West. Going to the beach in the morning was part of his daily routine.
He also went fishing every chance he got.
